Our Recreational Programs

Summer Recreational

The season runs from the end of June through the second week of August.  Teams at every level are co-ed.  The season is meant to be a safe, friendly, and learning environment for players of all abilities.   Players do not need to have experience with the game because they will be instructed in the basic soccer skills by a volunteer coach.  The Rip Van Winkle Soccer Club has been running programs for over 20 years in area and prides itself on quality.  We are always looking for volunteers to help the program be successful.

Team practices will be days/times that the coach sets at the beginning of the season.  Games start after the 4th of July holiday.

Summer Soccer is about having fun with friends, learning the game through playing, and keeping a healthy lifestyle.  We are a strictly volunteer organization.

Fall Recreational

The fall recreational academy season runs for 5 Saturdays, starting the first/second Saturday after Labor Day weekend with a professional paid soccer coach. Each Saturday players will work in an age-appropriate group with a trainer learning the correct techniques, building their skills, and confidence with a soccer ball. Each group has a maximum number of 20 players for a more one-one session.

Additional group can be made based on need, so time slots are slightly flexible. All groups will be given a time slot in the mornings. Our professional training group is Beestera Soccer, which has an exceptional reputation in the Capital District and is also our travel program team trainers. We have provided a link to their home page at the bottom of this page so you can check for local camps and information.

Winter Recreational

This is a FUN 9-week soccer program, that allows players to have fun and work on ball control, conditioning, strength, coordination, and best of all, just having fun!  The program will be at the Cairo-Durham Elementary School.  Number of players is limited due to space and time allotment, so the program is first come, first served.  We hope with the demand and volunteers to be able to increase the hours and availability in the future.
