The Rip Van Winkle SC story

The Rip Van Winkle Soccer Club has been existence for over 20 years in the Cairo Area.  Our current President took over the club in 2004 and at that time it had two soccer programs.  We have grown our club to offer six different programs throughout the calendar year.   For 11 years of that time, we raised money and developed a plan to build a new soccer field at 10 Volunteer Drive, Cairo.  The field was completed in 2018 with the help of The Bank of Greene County, the Greene County legislators, William Lawerence and Harry Lennon, a grant from NYS, Delaware Engineering and many donations different business.   The club has continued to improve the quality of its programs and provide a variety of experiences for its players.  It is run strictly by volunteer coaches, assistant coaches, and board members.

We are a member of Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association, Capital District Youth Soccer League. And affiliates of the United States Youth Soccer Association, and United States Soccer Federation.
